March saw some consultation at the village hall. Besides all the wonderful stories to be told by individual people, what should we cover in this history of the island that we are creating? Taking ideas from conversations with people, the event at the hall on 10th March, advice from the School of Scottish Studies, and the answers on the oral history postcards that were delivered to every house, we’ve got the following list of themes to concentrate on :
Childhood, Change, Ceilidhs (and other events including weddings and funerals), The Community, The Landscape, Wildlife and Livestock, Transport (including boats and the roads), The Estates.
Let the interviews commence!
