Getting to Jura

Jura can be reached in a number of ways by public transport.

The fastest way to reach Jura is by Jura Passenger Ferry. You can also travel via Islay by taking the Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry from Kennacraig or by daily Flybe flights from Glasgow Airport.

Jura Passenger Ferry

The ferry runs every summer, this year the it sails from 28th March 2013  to  1st October 2013. The ferry runs every day except Wednesdays and you arrive in the heart of Craighouse. It leaves from Tayvallich, west of Lochgilphead. It’s perfect for a day trip from the mainland. Full details are available at www.jurapassengerferry.com

Road and Car Ferry

Caledonian McBrayne operate regular sailings from Kennacraig to  Port Ellen and Port Askaig on Islay.
The connecting ferry to Jura crosses regularly from Port Askaig to Feolin.
It is essential to book with CalMac for a vehicle crossing, you can find timetables and book online at www.calmac.co.uk.

By Bus

Scottish CityLink operate a coach service from from Buchanan Street Bus Station in Glasgow to Kennacraig ferry terminal. There are four buses a day in each direction but not all of them tie in with ferries. www.citylink.co.uk
The Jura Bus is operated by Garelochhead Coaches and travels between Feolin Ferry to Craighouse and north up the island to Inverlussa

By Air

From Glasgow to Islay, Flybe operates three flights on Mondays and Fridays, two daily flights Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, morning flight only on Saturday, afternoon flight only Sunday. Flights operated by Loganair. www.flybe.com
